yeah... 16 levels is coo, but even with the 4k...it's totally different when you use a keyspanning...especially when you have the write notes to keyspan. You can't do that with one note like 16 levels

good looks but i gotta say in my mind 16 levels is a playable instrument in the same way as a key spanned.

cos in both instances u start with one sample and the result is the same sample spread across many pads at varying pitches.

but auto-detect would be deadly

sup fam!

well, 16 levels just goes up in pitch/velocity for 16 spaces... keyspannign let's you create a playable instrument across all the keys.

so yeah, if you had 6 notes, you could recreate a nice playable patch.

I still hope they do some type of 16/13 level thing on the thang, cuz that is a quick way to get different pitches from one note

remember the beat thang can cover all chromatic 88 keys of a piano

I don't think it has autodetect tho, that would be too dope! Hopefully they add something like that to autodetect the notes!

sup saint joe i dont get the difference between 16 levels on an mp vs the key spanning on the thang apart from the 3 note difference.

also can this create multi-samples say for instance i had a folder with 6 sperate keyboard notes can it detect pitch and place them on the correct keys then pitch the missing inbetween notes to create a full octave?

yeah man, it's pretty dope and easy to use. However, I'd still like to see something similar to 16 levels...it's still very useful for certain situations when you don't want a multisampled sound but just quick access to various pitches. Maybe a 13 level option! That way you can do it on a single sound and use it for either pitch or velocity....I'm hopin they also add something like that.

I'm waiting on the hardware too man! I'm glad I could help ya out! Glad yo like the site, make sure to keep checkin!

by far one of the more ground breaking features of BTV! the mp's 16levels seems outdated in comparison, and cant beat the octave style layout!

Respect to SaintJoe for the hands-on! especially since i prefer to learn all i can about a products features prior to purchase.

Waiting 4 that hardware!Allday!
